The work functions of the truck are inhibited when it is in the programming mode. The drive control (7, 8) and the signal control 12 are used in the programming mode, at which both of the activation directions of the drive control are used in the programming mode. The programming mode is switched on by the signal control (12) being activated at the same time as he truck is switched on, while the programming mode is exited by the shutting off of the truck.

Steering for lift truck were the gearing in the movement transfer or translation between steering wheel and truck wheel is adapted to the work conditions by being divided into a low speed range intended for loading and unloading with high gearing and fast turning movements, and the high speed area intended for transport distances between loading and unloading places with reduced gearing. Between these speed ranges a continues transition for the gearing between the low and the high range or vise versa. The gearing in low and high speed ranges, respectively, may have a comparatively small speed influence or even be constant, whereas the gearing change quickly with the speed in the intermediate range.
