Abstract:
A prosthesis that includes a stent comprising a plurality of circumferential bands, a plurality of linking members, at least one anchor, or a prosthesis that includes a stent comprising at least one anchoring section comprising a first circumferential band, a second circumferential band, and at least one anchor. Optionally, the prosthesis further includes at least one cover.
Abstract:
This disclosure is directed primarily to a stent for use in the trachea. The stent has a nominally deployed state, an axially extended state and an axially compressed state. The stent has a length. In the axially extended state, the length is at least 20% greater than in the nominally deployed state.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the disclosure include methods and systems for attaching an articulation section. Hereby disclosed is an adapter (300) for an articulation section (30). The adapter (300) comprises a body (301) configured to receive a bend portion (116) of a first articulation elongate member (111, 112). The body (301) includes a first, distal end (302) configured to be attached to an end effector (20) and a second, proximal end (304) configured to be coupled to an articulation link (400) of the articulation section (30). The body (301) further comprises a first side cavity (320) at least partially defined by a first ledge (322). The first ledge (322) includes a bend configured to support the bend portion (116) of the first articulation elongate member (111, 112). A t least one channel (326) extends from the first side cavity (320) toward the second, proximal end (304) of the body (301). The at least one channel (326) is configured to receive portions of the first articulation elongate member (111, 112) that are attached to the bend portion (116); and a first anchoring member (330) configured to fixedly attach the bend portion (116) of the first articulation elongate member (111, 112) to the body (301).
Abstract:
The present invention discloses an endoscope (2), comprising a shaft defining a longitudinal axis (A) and having a distal tip (4), an elevator (6) having a lumen (8), wherein the elevator (6) includes a distal portion (28) that is bendable relative to a proximal portion of the elevator (6), the lumen (8) having a distal-end opening (30), and the distal portion (28) of the elevator (6) defining a longitudinal axis (8) through a center of the distal portion (28), the distal portion (28) of the elevator (6) being movable between a first configuration and a second configuration, and a medical device (32) positioned within the elevator (6), wherein walls of the distal tip (4) include a lateral opening (38) and a distal opening (40) to allow the medical device (32) exiting the distal-end opening (30) of the elevator (6) to access an exterior of the endoscope (2), wherein the lateral opening (38) and the distal opening (40) combine to form a single opening at the distal tip (4) that is both distal facing and side facing.
Abstract:
An endoscope may include a shaft having a longitudinal axis, a first image sensor facing a distal direction, and a second image sensor facing a lateral direction. The endoscope may further include a tubular member having a lumen, the lumen having a distal-end opening and defining a longitudinal axis through a center of the lumen. The tubular member may be movable between a first configuration and a second configuration. In the first configuration of the tubular member, the longitudinal axis of the lumen may be parallel to the longitudinal axis of the shaft. In the second configuration of the tubular member, the longitudinal axis of the lumen may extend through a lateral opening in a wall of the shaft.
