[3-1] A plurality of cells are formed so as not to correspond by 1 : 1 with the pixel positions for displaying an image. [3-2] The ratio of the cell area/pixel area is set to be smaller than 4. [2] The image display panel is manufactured as follows. A first layer composed of photo-sensitive colored composition is formed on one of the substrates. A second layer composed of photo-sensitive composition having a higher light transmittance and a greater thickness than the first layer is formed on the first layer. The first layer and the second layer on the substrate are subjected to exposure via a mask and then developed and washed. Thus, colored partitions are formed on the substrate and the other substrate is attached to the colored partitions.
