    摘要: A method for a control device (300) to restart electrical service at a service point (20) in a utility service area after a power stoppage, the control device (300) being installed at the service point (20) and controlling a supply of electrical power to at least one power consuming device (30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 402-412) located at the service point (20), comprises: estimating (1904) an amount of time required to complete a restart of electrical service in the utility service area; determining (1906) a start time for commencing the restart of electrical service in the utility service area; estimating (1908) a completion time for completing the restart of electrical service in the utility service area based on the estimated amount of time required to complete the restart of electrical service in the utility service area and the start time for commencing the restart of electrical service in the utility service area; generating (1920) a random number, wherein the random number is between zero and the estimated completion time; determining (1922) a random start time for restarting electrical service at the service point (20) based on the random number and the start time for commencing the restart of electrical service in the utility service area; comparing (1930) the random start time to a current time of day; and restarting (1940) electrical service at the service point (20) at the current time of day in the event that the random start time is no later than the current time of day. A control device is also disclosed and claimed.

    摘要: A load management system controller employs a method for determining carbon credits earned as a result of a control event in which power is reduced to at least one service point serviced by a utility. The controller is located remotely from the service point(s) and determines power consumed over time by at least one device located at the service point(s) to produce power consumption data. The controller stores the power consumption data. At some later point in time, the controller initiates a control event and determines an amount of power reduced during the control event based on the stored power consumption data. The controller also determines a generation mix for power that would have been supplied to the service point(s) if the control event had not occurred. The controller then determines a quantity of carbon credits earned based at least on the amount of power reduced and the generation mix.

    摘要: An apparatus and method control transmission of messages over a fixed bandwidth link from fixed position communication devices to a central controller in a load management system. The messages include information relating to electric power consumption by power consuming devices located at service points that include the communication devices. In one embodiment, the central controller determines an identifier associated with each communication device, a reporting period during which the messages are to be transmitted by the communication devices, and transmission increments within the reporting period. The controller allocates each transmission increment to a respective group of communication devices. The controller then determines a transmission time for a message from a particular communication device based on the identifier for the particular device, a duration of a transmission increment allocated to a group of communication devices that includes the particular device, and a quantity of communication devices in the particular device's group.

    摘要: A server manages consumption of power supplied by at least one electric utility to multiple power consuming devices. Power flow to the consuming devices is enabled and disabled by controllable devices controlled by one or more client devices. The server includes a command processor, event manager, database, and client device manager. The command processor receives commands from the utility and issues event messages responsive thereto. The event manager maintains a power management status for each client device and issues event instructions responsive to event messages. The database stores information relating to power consumed by the consuming devices. The client device manager selects from the database, responsive to receipt of a power reduction event instruction, at least one client device to which to issue a message indicating a power reduction amount and/or identification of at least one controllable device to be instructed to disable power flow to associated consuming devices.
