    摘要： A microwave antenna assembly (12, 112) comprises a feedline (20, 120) including an inner conductor (50, 150), an outer conductor (56, 156) and an inner insulator (52, 152) disposed therebetween, a radiating portion and a connection hub. The radiating portion (18, 118) includes a dipole antenna (40, 140) having a proximal (42, 142) and distal (44, 144) portions. The proximal portion includes at least a portion of the inner conductor (50, 150) and the inner insulator (52, 152) and the distal portion (44, 144) includes a conductive member (45, 145). The connection hub (22, 122) includes a cable connector (79) coupled to the feedline, inlet (32) and outlet(30) fluid ports. A tip (48) having an insertion base is coupled to the distal end of the antenna. A sheath (38) is fluidly coupled to the connection hub (32) and the tip and defines a chamber (89) around the feedline (20, 120) and the radiating portion (18, 118), the chamber being adapted to circulate dielectric coolant fluid therethrough from the inlet fluid port to the outlet fluid port.

    摘要： A device for directing energy to a target volume of tissue includes an inner conductor having a length and an outer conductor coaxially surrounding the inner conductor along the length. The outer conductor has a proximal portion and a distal portion. The distal portion of the outer conductor is provided with a number of apertures N defined therein for radiating energy, where N is an integer greater than 1, each aperture having a size and extending at an angle relative to a longitudinal axis of the outer conductor. At least one of the size and the angle of each aperture is varied in relation to the other apertures N-1 such that the energy radiated along the distal portion is substantially uniform.

The radiating portion includes a radiating portion inner conductor operable coupled to and extending from a distal end of the coaxial feedline inner conductor, a shielding outer conductor helically wrapped about the radiating portion inner conductor and operably coupled to the coaxial feedline outer conductor; and a shielding dielectric positioned between the radiating portion inner conductor and the shielding outer conductor wherein the width of the shielding outer conductor varies according to the longitudinal position thereof along the coaxial feedline inner conductor, and a cap operably coupled to a distal end of the radiating portion inner conductor and the shielding outer conductor to provide an electrical connection therebetween.
