摘要:
A method for modifying a fluoropolymer, which comprises bringing the same into contact with ozone for the purpose of preventing the same from undergoing discoloration during melt molding or firing.
摘要:
After a melt-processable fluorine-containing copolymer is heated and molten, the copolymer is reheatd in a closed apparatus under a non-static condition at a temperature of, for example, 130 DEG C to the melting point of the fluorine-containing polymer, whereby a content of volatile materials in the copolymer is reduced to 30 % or less of an initial content of volatile materials. Thereby, the content of volatile materials in the melt-processable fluorine-containing copolymer, which has been once molten, can be effectively decreased without using a large apparatus while avoiding the contamination of the copolymer with foreign particles.
摘要:
A fluorocopolymer which comprises tetrafluoroethylene units and hexafluoropropylene units, optionally contains perfluoro(alkyl vinyl ether) units, and has a melt flow rate (MFR) at 372 DEG C of 0.1 to 100 and in which the total amount (ppm) of alkali metals and alkaline earth metals contained therein is not larger than the value as calculated from the melt flow rate at 372 DEG C (MFR) using the equation (1): 5.2 x e + 2 but exceeds the value as calculated using the equation (2): 0.35 x e . An electrical wire or cable coated with the fluoropolymer retains the intact electrical properties of the electrical wire and does not suffer core wire corrosion, despite the presence of alkali and alkakine earth metals.
摘要:
A compound comprising an alkali metal or alkaline earth metal is added to a fluorine-containing polymer comprising a carboxylic aid terminal group or a terminal group capable of forming a carboxylic acid group through hydrolysis by heating it at a temperature of 200 °C or higher, in an amount of 0.1 to 10 %, in terms of the number of the metal atom for the alkali metal or the alkaline earth metal, in terms of the number of an ammonia molecule for an ammonia and in terms of the number of an ammonium group for a compound comprising an ammonium group, and the resultant mixture is heated at a temperature of 200 °C or higher in an atmosphere containing moisture. By this method, an unstable terminal group such as a carboxylic acid group and the discoloration owing to the group can be effectively removed, and further an unstable bonding in a main chain can be eliminated, so that the resultant fluorine-containing polymer has an amount of unpaired electrons on carbon atoms as small as 1.0x1013 spins/g or less, as measured by electron spin resonance measurement.
