摘要: A first monitor circuit 50 and a second monitor circuit 60 each having an identical configuration are provided in a voltage monitor. A threshold switching section 41 switches a threshold of each of switching units 51 and 61 provided in the respective monitor circuits 50 and 60 to a same value. Each of comparators 53 and 63 compares the threshold with a reference voltage to output a result of the comparison. A fault detecting section 42 compares the respective outputs from the comparators 53 and 63 with each other to detect a characteristic shift of the threshold of each of the monitor circuits 50 and 60.

摘要: A diagnostic device diagnoses a rechargeable lithium ion battery that is configured of a plurality of battery blocks connected in series for a degraded state attributed to metallic lithium deposited therein. If a condition is established for starting a diagnosis, the diagnostic device starts discharging the battery, and after each battery block has a voltage (Vb) decreased to a measurement starting voltage (Vs) until the block has the voltage (Vb) decreased to a measurement ending voltage (Ve) the block discharges an amount (Q) of power, which the diagnostic device calculates for the battery block. If all blocks each discharge power in an amount (Q) larger than a brand-new product threshold value (A1) the diagnostic device determines that the battery is in a brand new condition. If all blocks each discharge power in an amount (Q) larger than a uselessness threshold value (A2) the diagnostic device determines that the battery is useful. If at least one block discharges power in an amount (Q) smaller than the uselessness threshold value (A2) the diagnostic device determines that the battery is useless.

摘要: When a catalyst temperature is lower than a predetermined temperature on a second or subsequent start of an engine since system activation of a vehicle, a catalyst warm-up request is output for the purpose of warming up a catalyst in a catalytic converter. An output limit Wout of a battery is not increased in response to a second or subsequent output of the catalyst warm-up request, while being increased in response to a first output of the catalyst warm-up request (S210 and S220). Accordingly, the catalyst warm-up in response to the second or subsequent output of the catalyst warm-up request since the system activation suppresses excessive output of electric power from the battery and thereby suppresses deterioration of the battery. Catalyst warm-up is performed in response to the second or subsequent output of the catalyst warm-up request. This suppresses deterioration of emission. As a result, this configuration satisfies both (balances) suppression of deterioration of the battery and suppression of deterioration of emission.
