    摘要: A method and apparatus may provide encrypted digital content through any public communication channel in a secure way to end customers, wherein nor the encryption key neither the decryption key needs to be transmitted through the public channel. The customer has a key storage device (RFID tag) with a content identifier and a decryption key. The method for encrypting data comprises the steps of receiving (S5) a request with a content identifier and an asset identifier (assetID), searching in a first database (DBMS2) the content identifier and retrieving (S7) a corresponding encryption key and related status information indicating if the request is valid. If the request is valid, digital data identified by the asset identifier (assetID) are retrieved (S9) from a second database (DBMS1) and encrypted (E) using the encryption key. Then the encrypted data are sent to a requestor, who can decrypt it with his key storage device (RFID tag).

    摘要: MPEG video uses motion compensated prediction for coding pictures. A GOP includes at least one intra-coded picture to start decoding with and a number of inter-coded pictures and normally also includes bi-directionally predicted pictures. However, the GOP structure is not constructed for playing GOPs in backward direction in a trickplay mode across GOP boarders. The invention facilitates, for different GOP structures, a smooth backward video mode thereby reducing the required number of frame buffers and achieving near real-time speed presentation. In some embodiments some I and/or P pictures are decoded more than once. The invention also allows backwards decoding of MPEG-4-AVC GOPs including B-stored pictures.

    摘要: The major TV systems in the world use interlaced scanning and either 50Hz field frequency or 60Hz field frequency, denoted 50i and 60i, respectively. However, movies are produced in 24Hz frame frequency and progressive scanning, denoted 24p. In order to broadcast movies as TV programs, in 60Hz countries a 3:2 pull-down is applied in which every 3rd field is repeated, and in 50Hz countries a movie is replayed or broadcast about 4% faster. In 24p digital format the video signal is encoded using MPEG. Because 24p-related originally compressed audio data streams cannot be decoded and replayed 4% faster without carrying out a pitch conversion consuming a significant amount of processor time, DVD Video discs sold in 50Hz countries contain audio data streams that are already encoded such that the DVD player's decoder 'automatically' outputs a 4% faster audio signal. When introducing HDTV digitally compressed movies on discs the movie producers would like to provide movie content only in 24p format worldwide. According to the invention, a related disc player offers at least three different replay modi to the user:

    24p format with original video and audio replay speed;
    60i format with original audio replay speed and 3:2 pull-down for video;
    50i format with original audio replay speed and 24:1 pull-down for video.

However, because it takes some time to start decoding of an encoded video sequence and the different angle views each relate to corresponding differently encoded video streams, such switching causes a delayed response to a user's angle change request. It is proposed that the original video resolution is reduced in favour of fast response time to video angle change requests. The available pixels within a video frame are used to store two or more video signals side by side, each one representing a different viewing angle, but the full picture area video signal is anyway decoded. The selected viewing angle video signal is re-scaled to full-size presentation.

    摘要: Normally, digital PIP video signals are directly edited into the main video signal and then encoded jointly into a single coded video stream. However, in order to give a user full control over the PIP presentation of the encoded video signals, each PIP signal requires a separate encoding, and in a receiver one video decoder is required for each video stream displayed. According to the invention, a PIP-like presentation of timeline-related auxiliary video signals is enabled, achieving this with only one coded video stream and therefore a single video decoder. When encoding, the video plane is logically split into a main video area and a side panel area that carries one or more PIP windows. After decoding, the main video area is displayed centred or stretched to the full display size. The content of the side panel is not displayed directly but, depending on side information, some portions of that side panel are overlaid on the main video window. Because the PIP video signals are no longer hard-coded into the main video window, the user has control over showing or hiding each one of the PIP video signals.
