The backbone of the TPA-based polyester comprises the reaction product of a terephthalic acid and a polyol. The composition may further comprise a second network-forming component.

There is described a process for producing a gel free hyperbranched polyamide polymer having primary amino groups (useful as a crosslinker). The process comprises the step of reacting at least one diamine and at least one unsaturated diester in a molar ratio of diamine to diester greater than 1 but less than 3 (preferably 2.1 to 2.9); to form the polyamide in a two stage reaction Michael addition and then amidation. The diamine in kept in excess with at least 5% of water by total weight of the diamine and diester, a reaction temperature less than the boiling point of the diamine; and is held under reduced pressure (30 mbar to 1 atms). Gelation does not occur even after substantially all ethylenic (-C=C- ) double bonds; and >95% ester [-C(O)=O] groups have reacted. This violates the Flory rules which predict a gel would form based on the number of functional groups present and their degree of conversion.

The invention provides a process for preparing organic nanoparticles comprising the steps of: (a) preparing a solution comprising an unsaturated polyester and/or a vinyl ester resin, an initiator and a hydrophobic monomer; (b) emulsifying the solution obtained in step (a) in an aqueous phase; and thereafter (c) curing the emulsified solution. The invention further provides organic nanoparticles obtainable by the process according to the invention; various uses of said nanoparticles; and paper, dye compositions and toner compositions comprising said nanoparticles.

This invention relates to the use of resin compositions for chemical anchoring, wherein the resin composition comprises at least: a. a thiol-containing component, and b. a resin containing one or more reactive moieties selected from the group of: i. non-aromatic carbon double bond moieties, and ii. epoxide moieties, and an initiator. Preferably, the resin composition further comprises a diluent, more preferably a reactive diluent. Furthermore, the present invention also relates to the use of a multi-component, preferably a 2-component system of which one component contains a thiol group(s) containing component for chemical anchoring by means of cold curing.
