The invention relates to a friction layer for two opposing friction pieces which may be brought together and apart and which also circulate. At least one friction piece comprises a friction layer rigidly arranged on a support and a medium is found between the friction layer and the corresponding counterpiece to the friction piece. The material components for the material composition of the friction layer made from composite material, further additives and the binding composition of the above, are selected such that the material composition and hence the friction layer have considerable shrinkage properties caused by the heat treatment during the production thereof and shrinkage relative to the material of the support for the friction layer. As a result of the shrinkage process during the heat treatment, a network structure of irregularly distributed, directly interconnected channel-like recesses is embodied in the whole friction layer.

The invention relates to a method for manufacturing components with a nickel base alloy as well as to components manufactured therewith. The respective components, in particular, are to have improved mechanical properties in comparison with the conventional solutions, and are to be producible in the most differently shaped form. During the production, proceeding takes place then such that a substrate core made of nickel or a nickel base alloy, in which nickel is included with a content of at least 20 wt%, will be coated on the surface with a binding agent as well as a metal powder in which nickel is included with a content of at least 20 wt% in addition to further alloy forming elements. Subsequently, a stepped thermal treatment is carried out in which the binding agent is expelled at first, and subsequent to this sintering of the mezai powder is performed which results in alloying up a nickel substrate core and/or which develops a solid surface coating made of nickel base alloy.

The invention relates to a method for producing metal powders and to metal powders thereby produced. The aim of the invention is to provide methods which allow metal powders to be produced a low cost from metal oxides the properties of which allow various uses. The method according to the invention is characterized by subjecting a metal oxide powder in a first step to a heat treatment in a reducing hydrogen atmosphere, the metal oxide being reduced. The temperature is then increased in a second step of the heat treatment and this temperature is maintained over a period, thereby possibly reducing the specific surface of the metal powder obtained previously by reduction.

The invention relates to a method for fabricating an open-porous molded body which is formed from nickel or iron and at least another element which form solid solutions or intermetallic phases as well as a molded body which is correspondingly fabricated, and the use thereof. During the fabrication it is proceeded then, such that a coating with a metallic powder forming solid solutions or intermetallic phases is deposited upon an open-porous body made of nickel or iron by means of an organic binder. Subsequent thereto, the open-porous body provided with the coating is brought into the desired shape with observing minimum bending radii, and subsequently the organic components are removed in a first thermal treatment step. By means of a second thermal treatment the open-porous molded body is sintered, and the solid solution or the intermetallic phase are formed.

A turbine blade for turbo-engines as well as a method for manufacturing such a turbine blade is disclosed. According to the task set, the turbine blades should be capable of withstanding high thermal stress and able to maintain an adequate mechanical strength even at raised operating temperatures. The turbine blades are so designed that on the surface of a core element a heat-insulating layer of a metallic open-cell foam is integrally connected to said core element by sintering. The outer contour of the turbine blade is formed with at least one shell element. The shell element comprises a nickel-base alloy, which is also integrally connected by sintering to the open-cell foam which forms the heat-insulating layer.

The invention relates to open-pored metallic foam bodies as well as a method for manufacturing thereof. These metallic foam bodies are allowed to be advantageously used with ambient environmental conditions causing a high corrosion to many conventional materials, and accordingly reducing the lifetime thereof frequently. According to the set object, the metallic foam bodies should have a low mass simultaneously with a high specific surface, and increased corrosion resistance under chemically aggressive ambient environmental conditions. An open-pored metallic foam body according to the invention is then developed such that it is formed from a nickel-copper alloy having at least 40 percent by weight of nickel and yet a porosity of at least 90 %.
