    摘要: Disclosed is an improved process for the continuous production ofaromatic carboxylic acids such as terephthalic acid by the liquid-phase oxidation of an alkyl aromatic compound using an oxygen-containing gas. Operation of the process is improved by providing a spray of recycled reaction medium at or near the top of a columnar oxidation vessel to minimize entrainment of liquid and/or solid components of the reactor in the process off-gas.

    摘要: Disclosed is a process to produce a purified carboxylic acid slurry. The process comprises removing impurities from a crystallized product in a solid liquid displacement zone to form the purified carboxylic acid slurry. The purified carboxylic acid slurry is further cooled in a cooling zone and subsequently filtered and dried in a filtration and drying zone. The process produces purified carboxylic acid product having good color and low impurity levels without the use of purification steps like hydrogenation or filtrate purge.

    摘要: In a liquid phase carbonylation process for the production of acetic anhydride by reacting a feed stream which includes methyl acetate, methanol and carbon monoxide using a Group VIII metal-containing catalyst, and preferably a rhodium containign material, a liquid reaction product is continuoulsy withdrawn from the carbonylation zone and fed to an evaporaton/separation zone for separating volatile constituents of the reaction from the non-volatile constituents whihc, includes a portion of the Group VIII metal catalyst from the carbonylation reactor. The Group VIII metal catalyst is contacted with a gas stream which includes hydrogen for a period of from about 0.001 seconds to about 200 seconds as it is being returned to the carbonylation zone.
