The catalyst used is a combination that comprises at least one lithium compound and at least one calcium compound, at least one of the compounds of the lithium and/or the calcium being an oxide, a hydroxide, an alkoxide with 1 to 4 carbon atoms or a carboxylate with 1 to 4 carbon atoms and at least part of the reaction taking place in the presence of an effective amount of water. The method according to the invention allows an especially cost-effective production of high-purity butanediol dimethacrylates.

Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Herstellung von optischen Formmassen auf Basis von Methylmethacrylat, wobei dieses MMA mittels einer optimierten Methode hergestellt wurde und sich die Formmassen insbesondere durch einen sehr geringen Gelbwert auszeichnen. Das erfindungsgemäß verwendete MMA wurde dabei durch direkte oxidative Veresterung von Methacrolein hergestellt. Insbesondere betrifft die vorliegende Erfindung eine optimierte Aufarbeitung des Reaktoraustrags der oxidativen Veresterung von Methacrolein, mittels der besonders färbende Nebenprodukte entfernt werden. Darüber hinaus hat dieses Verfahren den Vorteil, dass an die Apparative Ausgestaltung der Anlage weniger Ansprüche als im Stand der Technik beschrieben gestellt werden müssen.

The invention relates to a method for producing (meth)acrylates, comprising the transesterification of an alcohol with a low-boiling ester of the (meth)acrylic acid in the presence of catalysts, the alcohol released by the low-boiling ester of the (meth)acrylic acid being removed by distillation. The invention is characterized in that the mole ratio of the low-boiling ester of the (meth)acrylic acid to the feedstock alcohol present in the reaction mixture is increased during the reaction by adding low-boiling esters of the (meth)acrylic acid. The method according to the invention allows an especially cost-effective production of high-purity (meth)acrylates.
