摘要： A sealing arrangement for attachment to the window frame (8) running around a window opening on a vehicle door comprises a sealing strip (24) made of extruded plastics or rubber material and incorporating metal reinforcement (34). The strip (24) fits over a flange (18) forming part of the window frame and locks into a channel (22) formed in the frame. The strip (24) also has a lip (42) which defines a channel (44) for receiving the window glass (46). The strip has a locking protrusion (30) having a shoulder (32) and a hollow interior chamber (31). The latter enables the shoulder (32) to pivot about a pivot point (52) to allow the shoulder (32) to pass over a re-entrant lip (23) at the mouth of the channel (22) and to lock behind the lip (23). The strip (24) can thus be fitted and removed without the use of a tool.

摘要： A window frame carried on the door of a vehicle is in the form of an aluminium extrusion (20) having a smooth bend (22) in the region where the top of the frame meets the corner between the "B" pillar of the vehicle and the vehicle roof. The window glass has a sharp angle matching this corner. The aluminium extrusion (20) carries flanges (26) directed towards but stopping short of the sharp corner. The sealing and guiding strip assembly comprises a moulded part incorporating a separate metal corner piece (80) and defining a window glass receiving channel. The metal corner piece has clips which fit in a channel (24) on the aluminium extrusion. The moulded part is concealed beneath extruded strip parts (113) meeting at a mitre join (116) at the sharp corner. These strip parts (113) extend away from the corner piece (80) and form integral parts of extruded window glass receiving channels matching the channel (100) in the moulded part.

摘要： A window glass sending and guiding channel has a base (22) and side walls (25, 26). One of the side walls (25) carries a lip (29) extending partway across the mouth of the channel, and the opposite side wall (26) carries a similar though smaller lip (30). The lips (29, 30) carry respective applied layers of flock (46). A further lip (24) is mounted on the outside of one (25) of the side walls of the channel and extends past the mouth of the channel to overlap one of the side walls of a stiff mounting frame (20). In addition, this further lip (24) is pressed overlappingly against a terminating edge of the flocked layer (46) on the lip (29), to form a sharp and visually pleasing linear edge (29A) along the flocked area (46). This therefore hides a possibly ragged edge to the flocked area (46) on the lip (29).
