    摘要: In an optical disk recording medium having grooves (84) and lands (85) formed on a substrate and information recording areas formed in association with both the groove and the land, first prepit portions (833) representing VFO information and second prepit portions (834) representing address information are disposed on a virtual extensions of the boundaries between grooves (84) and lands (85), and the prepits are disposed to satisfy such requirements that the prepits are disposed on both sides of a virtual extension of the center line of a groove, that the prepits are disposed on both sides of a virtual extension of a center line of a land, that the prepits do not exist on both sides of a given position on the center line of the groove, and that the prepits do not exist on both sides of a given position on the center line of the land. When an optical spot scans a track, pits on either one side or the other are reproduced and crosstalk does not occur between adjacent tracks. Also claimed are an optical recording/reproducing apparatus and an optical recording/reproducing method in which the irradiation position (tracking) of an optical spot on such a medium is controlled on the basis of the amplitude of the VFO signal.

    摘要: Disclosed is an optical recording an reproducing apparatus comprising a light source (1) directing a light spot toward a recording medium (7), a detection system (11 - 14) detecting light reflected from the recording medium to derive an electrical signal from the reflected light, an information processing circuit (9) modulating the intensity of the light spot according to writing pulses to record information on the recording medium and using the electrical signal to reproduce information from the recording medium, and a tracking servo circuit (22, 23) carrying out tracking servo operation on the basis of the electrical signal and including an extracting circuit connected to a source of extracting pulses having a pulse width at least equal to the writing pulse width so that writing pulse parts contained in the electrical signal are extracted during recording information, whereby a track offset occurring during information recording can be minimized, and the stability of the tracking servo system can be improved.

    An optical information processing apparatus for such a medium is also disclosed. The apparatus has means to irradiate a light spot having a predetermined spot diameter such that one specific prepit among the prepits is always reproduced.

    摘要: A disk-like information recording medium (8) includes recording areas provided in both of a groove portion (3) and a land portion (4). The information recording medium is divided into groups of a plurality of areas, each track (3, 4) is divided into circular arc-shaped sectors (1) having the same central angle arranged to be radial in the radius direction, identification information (2) is provided at every sector, each track is divided into groups in such a manner that lengths of the circular arc-shaped sectors (1) become almost constant among the groups, and the groove portion and the land portion are wobbled in the radius direction of the information recording medium. When the groove portion information track (3) and the land portion information track (4) which are the recording portions are wobbled in the radius direction, position information can be reliably obtained from the recording portions, and hence recorded information can be accessed reliably. Also, an accuracy with which the rotation of the information recording medium is controlled can be raised, and it becomes possible to position recorded information accurately.
