The invention relates to machine dishwashing detergents which contain phosphates. The inventive detergents not only preserve glass and decorative features but have an excellent cleaning capacity, even on problem stains such as tea, egg, milk and oat flakes. According to the invention, the detergents contain a further builder in addition to the phosphates, in the form of a powdery to granular additive. Said additive contains the following essential constituents: a crystalline lamellar silicate of the general formula (I) NaMSixO2x+1.yH2O wherein M represents sodium or hydrogen, x is a number from 1.9 to 22 and y represents a number from 0 to 33; and (co)polymeric polycarboxylic acids. Additives of this type can be processed easily in terms of the production technology required.

This is achieved in that the agent contains at least two different granular components, at least one of which is extruded and at least one is not, where the extruded component(s) is/are present in quantities of 30 to 85 wt.% in relation to the whole of the agent, the tenside (including soap) content of the extruded component(s) is 0 to less than 15 wt.% in relation to the extruded component and there is at least one non-extruded, granular and tenside-containing component in the agent in quantities such that at least 1 wt.% in tensides, in relation to the whole of the agent, is prepared by this component.

The object of the invention is to obtain granulated washing and cleaning agents having the usual composition, a primary washing and cleaning power comparable to the primary washing and cleaning power of usual commercially-available products, but whose secondary washing power has big advantages. For that purpose, agents are used which contain determined polymer polycarboxylates as granulated builder components. Preferred textile washing agents contain 8 to 40 % by weight anionic and non-ionic surfactants, including soap, 15 to 45 % by weight zeolite and/or crystalline layered silicates, in particular zeolite, 0.5 to 8 % by weight sodium or potassium carbonate and 0.5 to 15 % by weight, preferably 2 to 10 % by weight, in particular 3 to 5 % by weight, granulated polymer polycarboxylates. These agents may be produced in the usual manner by mixing at least two granulated components, of which one contains the polymer polycarboxylate.

Such agents have enhanced dissolving power and rinsing behaviour if they contain 20 to 55 % by wt. of anionic and non-ionic surfactants plus optionally included soaps, the content in the agents of C8-C22 alcohol sulphates, ethoxylated alcohol sulphates, α-alkylsulphonic acid esters and mixtures thereof is more than 8 % by wt. and the ratio by weight of these anionic surfactant sulphates and/or alkylsulphonic acid esters to non-ionic surfactants is 10:1 to 1:1.25.

Builder combinations used as additive components in other granular detergents or cleansers may also contain this terpolymer.
