摘要:
The invention concerns amorphous granular alkali silicates with bulk densities of at least 700 g/l and which have a high absorptive capacity, i.e. remain sufficiently free-flowing after impregnation with washing- or cleaning-agent constituents which are liquids of free-flowing solids at the processing temperature. Such silicates may be produced by a method which is based on spray drying and includes compression of the spray-dried beads. The spray-dried beads are ground and at the same time or subsequently granulated with the addition of a liquid granulation aid to give bulk densities of 700 to over 1000 g/l. Granulates of this kind are particularly suitable for use in high-density washing or cleaning agents with a high surfactant content and a bulk density over 700 g/l since they prevent, or at least significantly decrease, gel formation when the agent dissolves in water.

The invention relates to a neutralization and granulation method. According to said method, a neutralizing foam is used as granulation adjuvant. Said neutralizing foam was previously obtained by mixing an anionic surfactant in its acid form, which was expanded using a gaseous medium, and a highly concentrated, aqueous alkaline component, which was expanded using a gaseous medium. The neutralizing foam has an average pore size of less than 10 mm, preferably less than 5 mm and especially less than 2 mm.

In the method described, a homogeneous pre-mix is extruded at high pressure through nozzles (2) to give a continous extrusion. The extrusion emerging underneath the essentially vertical nozzles (2) is chopped at right angles by a rotating chopper blade (4) to the specified length. The chopped lengths flung out by the chopper blade are caught by a flexible cloth (7) which is caused to vibrate, the upper edge of the cloth being attached to the extruder and the lower edge being pulled downwards. Even at very high throughputs, caking of the granular material on the inside wall (6) of the granular tube is avoided without any need for restrictions on the range of recipes processed.
