A connection tubing system (70) is adapted to provide a closed connection between the hollow member and the sensor head unit which further comprises: a bellows member (120) having an input stem portion (122) adapted for connection to the connection tubing system, an expandable body portion (124) and a distal bellows face surface (126), the bellows body adapted for expansion and contraction in response to differential column pressure changes so that said bellows face surface translates along a range of movement; a non-electrically-powered mechanism (112) responsive to movement of said bellows face surface to provide an indication of the liquid level.

The vehicle speed is converted to a speed signal which, when it reaches a preset limit, is utilized by the system control to close a fuel control (16) through which fuel normally passes to the injection pump (10), and also to simultaneously open a pressure regulator (24). The fuel control (16) includes a small orifice (60) to pass just enough fuel to prevent pump cavitation. The system is characterized by a low fuel residual upon cutoff by the fuel control (16) so that the engine speed is quickly slowed for lack of fuel.

    摘要: There is disclosed an automatic control system for limiting the operating temperature of a diesel engine (10) having a shut down lever (52) that repositions the rack of its fuel pump (12) to a shut down position that closes the pump metering valves and shuts off the fuel supply to the engine. The system includes a pyrometer (24) to sense the exhaust gas temperature from the engine and generate a signal therefrom, a temperature controller (30) having an adjustable, maximum set point temperature to receive the signal from the pyrometer (24) and to generate a control signal which is applied to a control valve (102) in a fluid pressure line (99) which applies fluid pressure to a pressure responsive actuator (82) that moves the shut down lever (52) a fraction of its full travel necessary for shut down and thereby repositions the fuel pump rack to a throttling position in response to a sensed exhaust gas temperature which exceeds the preselected maximum set point temperature.
