A white color organic electroluminescence device comprising a negative electrode and a positive electrode and, interposed therebetween, one or more organic thin film layers including at least a light emitting layer, wherein the light emitting layer is constituted of a laminate of blue color light emitting layer and yellow-to-red color light emitting layer and contains an asymmetric condensed-ring-containing compound. This white color organic electroluminescence device realizes reduced chromaticity changes and excels in luminous efficiency and thermal stability, ensuring strikingly prolonged service life.

An organic electroluminescence device having an anode, a cathode, and one or more of organic thin-film layers held between the cathode and the anode is characterized in that at least one of the organic thin-film layer is a multilayer of a layer containing a metal complex having an energy gap of above 2.8 eV and a host material layer. The electroluminescence device exhibits a high luminance and has an emission efficiency higher than conventional and a long life.

Disclosed is an aromatic amine derivative having a specific structure wherein a diphenylamino group having a substituent is bonded to an unsubstituted pyrene structure. Also disclosed is an organic electroluminescent device wherein an organic thin film layer composed of one or more layers including at least a light-emitting layer is interposed between a cathode and an anode. At least one layer of the organic thin film layer contains the aromatic amine derivative by itself or as a component of a mixture. The organic electroluminescent device has a long life and emits blue light at a high luminous efficiency. The aromatic amine derivative enables to obtain such an organic electroluminescent device.

Disclosed is an organic electroluminescent (EL) device comprising an organic compound layer which is composed of one or more layers including at least a light-emitting layer and interposed between a pair of electrodes. In this organic EL device, the light-emitting layer contains (1) at least one selected from silacyclopentadiene derivatives having a specific structure and borane derivatives having a specific structure, and at least one selected from amine-containing compounds; or (2) at least one selected from silacyclopentadiene derivatives having a specific structure and at least one selected from amine-containing compounds. This organic EL device has excellent heat resistance, long life and high luminous efficiency, and emits light ranging from blue to red.
