The invention relates to a thermally integrated method for producing butadiene from butanol, which includes at least the following steps: a) dehydrating butanol, which process is supplied by a dehydration supply made up of at least said n-butanol feedstock diluted with at least a portion of the purified-water effluent from step c), resulting in a butene effluent in at least one reactor, in the presence of a catalyst including an alumina; b) oxidatively dehydrogenating said butene effluent, diluted with at least a portion of the purified-water effluent from step c), into butadiene, said butene effluent not having been treated in any way after dehydration step a); and c) separating the effluent obtained from step b) into at least one butadiene effluent and one purified-water effluent.
