摘要: Examples described herein include configuration of a transmitting network device to identify a source queue-pair identifier in at least some of the packets that are transmitted to an endpoint destination. A network device that receives packets and experiences congestion can determine if a congestion causing packet includes a source queue-pair identifier. If the congestion causing packet includes a source queue-pair identifier, the network device can form and transmit a congestion notification message with a copy of the source queue-pair identifier to the transmitting network device. The transmitting network device can access a context for the congestion causing packet using the source queue-pair identifier without having to perform a lookup to identify the context.

摘要: Technologies for control plane separation at a network interface controller (NIC) of a compute device configured to transmit, by a resource of the compute device, commands to a physical function managed by a network interface controller (NIC) of the compute device. The NIC is further to establish a data plane separate from a control plane, wherein the control plane comprises one of the trusted control path and the untrusted control path. Additionally, the resource is configured to transmit the commands via one of the trusted control path or the untrusted control path based on a trust level associated with the physical function. 摘要: Methods and apparatus for supporting active link status during LAN interface reset and reconfigurations. Under one aspect, during normal operations traffic is transmitted over an Ethernet link coupling a first link partner to a second link partner. In response to a network interface re-configuration event, transmission of traffic over the Ethernet link is paused while keeping the Physical layer (PHY) of the Ethernet link active. The configuration of the first link partner is updated while the transmission of traffic is paused and the PHY of the Ethernet link is active. Upon completion of the configuration update, the link partners resume transmission of traffic over the Ethernet link. Additional schemes are provided that support re-configuration of network interfaces that support link and per priority flow control. According to another aspect, separate power domains are used for the PHY and the MAC circuitry, enabling the MAC circuitry to be reset via a power cycle while maintaining power to the PHY circuitry.
