Provided are a method for analyzing nitrogen in a metal sample with which nitrogen content in a metal sample is determined accurately and at low cost, an apparatus for analyzing nitrogen in a metal sample, a method for adjusting nitrogen concentration in molten steel, and a method for manufacturing steel. The method for analyzing nitrogen in a metal sample according to the present invention includes: a melting process in which a metal sample containing a nitrogen component is melted in an argon gas atmosphere by performing impulse heating to gasify the nitrogen component; and an analyzing process in which nitrogen content in the metal sample is determined by analyzing nitrogen gas generated in the melting process and the argon gas by using a gas discharge optical emission method. By analyzing the nitrogen concentration of a sample taken from molten steel by using the analysis method described above, and by determining treatment conditions for adjusting nitrogen concentration on the basis of the nitrogen analysis value derived by the analysis, nitrogen concentration in molten steel is adjusted.

A coated steel sheet includes a corrosion-resistant coating composed of at least one layer selected from the group consisting of a Ni layer, a Sn layer, an Fe-Ni alloy layer, an Fe-Sn alloy layer, and an Fe-Ni-Sn alloy layer disposed on at least one surface of a steel sheet, and an adhesive coating disposed on the corrosion-resistant coating, the adhesive coating containing Zr and further containing at least one metal element selected from the group consisting of Co, Fe, Ni, V, Cu, Mn, and Zn, in total, at a ratio by mass of 0.01 to 10 with respect to Zr. The coated steel sheet has excellent humid resin adhesion and corrosion resistance, in which streaky surface defects do not occur. Accordingly, when the coated steel sheet is coated with a resin, it is possible to obtain a resin-coated steel sheet excellent in the properties described above. Furthermore, in a method for producing the coated steel sheet, it is not necessary to use Cr which is strictly environmentally regulated.

There are provided a method for desulfurizing molten steel, characterized in that a sample taken out from molten steel after the tapping from a converter or during the secondary refining is analyzed rapidly in a high accuracy by a method comprising a high frequency induction heating step wherein the sample is combusted and oxidized under the high frequency induction heating in a pure oxygen atmosphere to convert S in the sample into SO 2 and an analyzing step wherein SO 2 -containing gas produced in the high frequency induction heating step is analyzed through an ultraviolet fluorescence method to quantify S concentration of the sample, whereby S concentration of molten steel after the tapping from the converter can be controlled in a high accuracy to prevent failure of S concentration and also desulfurization time in the secondary refining can be shortened and the amount of the desulfurizer or the like used can be reduced, and a method of manufacturing molten steel by using such a method.
