摘要: A reinforced ion-conducting membrane comprises a planar reinforcing component which comprises a porous polymer material; an ion-conducting component embedded in at least a region of the planar reinforcing component, which ion-conducting component comprises an ion-conducting polymer material; and linking groups which are chemically bonded to both the planar reinforcing component and the ion-conducting component. The reinforced ion-conducting membrane is useful as the membrane in a membrane-electrode assembly for example as used in fuel cells.

摘要: A platinum alloy catalyst PtXNb, wherein X is nickel, cobalt, chromium, copper, titanium or manganese, characterised in that in the alloy the atomic percentage of platinum is 46-75at%, of X is 1-49at% and of Nb is 1-35at% is disclosed. The catalyst has particular use as an oxygen reduction catalyst in fuel cells, and in particular in phosphoric acid fuel cells.

摘要: A process for the recovery of a perfluorosulphonic acid ionomer from a component comprising a perfluorosulphonic acid ionomer is disclosed, the process comprising immersing the component comprising the perfluorosulphonic acid ionomer in a solvent comprising an aliphatic diol and heating.
