This invention has as its object to provide an ATM relay device which attains high-speed, large-capacity packet relaying by distributing the load on an IP forwarding unit without having to improve the operation speed, processing performance, and the like of an IP forwarding function. This invention has an ATM switch core (111) for distributing input ATM cells to corresponding ones of a plurality of output ports on the basis of their destination information. A plurality of IP forwarding units (120-1 to 120-n), which are provided in correspondence with the respective output ports of the ATM switch core (111) and have unique forwarding processing functions, execute predetermined forwarding processes for packets obtained by reassembling ATM cells input via the respective output ports. An SAR 121 assigns destination information that assumes different values in units of packets to ATM cells, which form each of packets having an identical address of those processed by the plurality of IP forwarding units (120-1 to 120-n). The ATM cells of a packet assigned identical destination information by the SAR 121 are stored in a PerVC queuing unit 112 by a predetermined volume, and are output in the format that stores the ATM cells by the predetermined volume.

An X-ray image tube according to the present invention has a whole evacuated envelope comprising an metallic input window through which X-rays pass, a metallic frame to which the metallic input window is welded, a hollow cylinder portion, an output window, etc., and the metallic input window and the metallic frame are hermetically welded to each other by ultrasonic welding. By means of such a construction, an X-ray image tube which can suppress occurrence of distortion of an electronic lens formed in the evacuated envelope, and a manufacturing method thereof is realized.

An external magnetic field (m) intruding into an electron lens area (23) from outside an X-ray image tube (11) is detected by a magnetic field sensor (32). A magnetic field for offsetting the external magnetic field (m) is generated by a coil (33) arranged in an input surface area (21) of the X-ray image tube (11), so that the distortion is corrected by removing the effects of the external magnetic field (m). The magnetic field sensor (32) is arranged in an area surrounded by a magnetic shield (20) of the X-ray image tube (11) and constituting an outer peripheral area on the electron lens area (23) side distant from the input surface area (21) of the X-ray image tube (11). The magnetic field sensor (32) is such that the effects of the magnetic field generated by the coil (33) arranged on the input surface area (21) side of the X-ray image tube (11) are reduced and the external magnetic field (m) intruding into the electron lens area (23) is accurately detected. A distortion correcting apparatus (31) of the X-ray image tube (11) can thus automatically correct the distortion.
