摘要： A vehicle discharge lamp (8) is provided with an outer tube (18), an arc tube (19) disposed within the outer tube (18), and a pair of electrodes (22) disposed within the arc tube. The arc tube includes a light emitting portion (20), and a pair of pinch seal portions (21). Molybdenum foils (23) are sealed in the respective pinch seal portions (21). Each of the electrodes (22) includes a sealed portion (28) sealed within the pinch seal portion (21), a projecting portion (29) projecting into the light emitting portion (20), and a welding portion (30) welded to the molybdenum foil (23). A concavo-convex part is formed on the sealed portion (28).

摘要： A discharge lamp bulb (30) has: an outer tube (32) formed by sealing two ends of an arc tube-surrounding portion (56) by first seal portions (57, 58), the outer tube (32) being made of quartz glass; a ceramic arc tube (31) mounted inside the arc tube-surrounding portion (56); electrodes (41, 42) that are supported so as to be opposed to each other inside the arc tube by the second seal portion (51, 52); lead wire assemblies (33, 34) connected to the electrodes (41, 42) and fixed to the first seal portions (57, 58); and an electrically insulating plug (68) that includes a metal terminal (87) and that holds the outer tube (32). One of the inside lead wires (43) is provided with a stress-relieving portion (53). A hollow cylindrical portion (65) that houses the stress-relieving portion (53) therein and that holds a periphery of the stress-relieving portion (53) is provided integrally with the outer tube (32).
