Disclosed is a hydrophilic silicone composition comprising an oral care substance. The composition is based on polysiloxanes having a high water-uptake capability. An aqueous solution or dispersion of the oral care substance can be soaked into the polysiloxane, whereby the resulting composition shows favorable release characteristics. The use of hydrophilically modified polysiloxanes, possibly in conjunction with unmodified hydrophobic polysiloxanes, allows for the convenient production of desired shapes, advantageously based on a dental imprint. The hydrophilic modification of the polysiloxane is particularly by including a hydrophilic vinyl monomer, particularly an alpha-olefinic soap, into the composition prior to curing.

A patient interface device uses a pressure flap which extends inwardly from an outer edge of a mask of the device. The pressure flap is for contacting the skin of the patient to provide a seal or partial seal between the mask volume and the ambient surroundings. The pressure flap comprises a cavity area which is exposed to a reduced pressure compared to the mask volume. This assists in keeping the pressure flap pressed against the patient's skin, and thereby maintain a large contact area. This in turn gives a reduction in local high pressure areas.

In an embodiment a material system (10, 20, 30) is described that comprises a hydrophobic silicone base material (11, 21, 31) and a hydrophilic silicone material (12, 22, 32) that is combined with the hydrophobic base material (11, 21, 31). At least a part of the hydrophilic material (12, 22, 32) is in contact with a moist surface (50). The hydrophobic base material (11, 21, 31) provides mechanical and dynamical stability of the material system (10, 20, 30). The hydrophilic material (12, 22, 32) allows for uptake or for diffusion of moisture away from moist surface (50). The material system (10, 20, 30) is utilized to fabricate a patient interface material (41) and forehead pad (42) of a user or patient interface, such as face mask (40), for example, a patient interface mask for positive air pressure therapy. Furthermore, a novel composition for the preparation of hydrophilic silicone materials, suitable for use in the material system (10, 20, 30), is disclosed.

A sleep therapy system comprises a sensor arrangement for detecting physiological parameters of a subject, a detection system for detecting a sleeping position of the subject and an alert system for instructing a change in sleep position of the subject. From the monitored physiological parameters, fluid accumulation is identified in a region of the body of the subject.
