    摘要： A method and a device (12) are disclosed for handling flat and/or foil materials (26) wound on rolls (14, 15) and used as packaging material for the packaging of piece goods, containers or similar assemblies of articles. In order to maintain a packaging operation, an at least partially unwound and/or depleted roll (15) is removed from at least one mounting position (EB1; EB2) of a packaging machine (10), and respectively exchanged for a new roll (14) comprising flat and/or film material (26), in that after each positioning of a new roll (14), the outermost layer (36) thereof is drawn off near to or in the region of the free end (50) thereof and connected, in particular welded or bonded, to a section of a material web (26) guided into a packaging line, so as to form an uninterrupted material web (26). The material web (26) drawn off from each new roll (14) is grasped by means of a controllable gripping and/or handling device (52) and moved in the direction towards the material web (26) that is already guided in the packaging line and/or to an attaching and/or welding device (32).

    摘要： The invention relates to a method and to a device for feeding, providing, handling, and/or exchanging rolls (12, 20) having flat and/or film material wound thereon, which flat and/or film material is used as packaging material (22) for packaging piece goods, multipacks, or similar article combinations. In the case of the device and the method, rolls (20) that have been at least nearly completely unwound and/or consumed are removed from at least one installation position (EB1, EB2) of a packaging machine (14) and thereafter a new roll (12) having flat and/or film material is installed in each respective installation position (EB1, EB2), wherein new rolls (12) are provided to the packaging machine (14) in a defined feed and are installed there in the respective installation position (EB1, EB2) after a spent roll (20) has been removed there beforehand. The at least one installation position (EB1, EB2) of the packaging machine (14) is defined by at least one rotatable holding mandrel (70) for rotatably holding and retaining the rolls (12) having flat and/or film material, which rolls are to be unwound in the packaging machine (14). The at least one holding mandrel (70) is moved in the axial direction thereof during the removal of an at least nearly completely unwound and/or consumed roll (20) and/or during the installation of a new roll (12).

At least the positions of the rolls (12) in the region of the defined feeding and/or provision and/or the gripping and/or handling device (16) and/or the movement space (46) thereof are detected by means of space surveillance devices (42) and at least the the movements of the gripping and/or handling device (16) are controlled in the region of the defined feeding and/or provision for the rolls (12) as a function of the acquired spatial, movement and/or sensor data (40).
