Abstract: A multi-cylinder diesel engine which has a common rail (3) extending in a fore-and-aft direction and is disposed above an intake manifold (2), and an engine cooling fan 4 is disposed at the front of the engine. A air intake portion (6) of the intake manifold (2) is disposed laterally outwardly of the common rail 3 and opposite a head cover (5). The common rail 3 is disposed in the path of cooling air blown by the engine cooling fan (4).

Abstract: There is provided an exhaust treatment device for a diesel engine that can prevent unnecessary alarm for ash deposition from being issued.
In the exhaust treatment device, a timer measures integrated time IT of a state of non-regenerative operation which ranges from an end of DPF regeneration to a next time point where the differential pressure reaches a regeneration request value; a counter acquires the short interval count IC, if the integrated time IT is a short interval shorter than a predetermined decision time; and an alarm device issues an alarm, if the consecutive short interval count IC reached a predetermined plural necessary count for alarm. A short interval count IC having been already acquired is preferably reset to 0, if the integrated time IT of the state of non-regenerative operation is a long interval not shorter than a predetermined decision time, before the short interval count IC reaches a predetermined necessary count for alarm.-

Abstract: There is provided a breather device for an engine which can prevent a blow-by gas outlet passage from being blocked due to freezing.
A breather device for an engine includes: a valve holder 2 disposed in a cylinder head cover 1; and a breather valve 3 supported by the valve holder 2. The valve holder 2 includes: a holder body 5 having a valve port 4 of the breather valve 3; an outlet passage pipe 7 formed of metal and having a blow-by gas outlet passage 6 formed inside, the blow-by gas outlet passage 6 communicating with the valve port 4 and being located below the valve port 4; and a heater 8 that heats the outlet passage pipe 7. An outer peripheral surface of the outlet passage pipe 7 is wrapped with the holder body 5 formed of a material having lower thermal conductivity than that of the outlet passage pipe 7, the holder body 5 has a heater insertion port 9, and the heater 8 is inserted from the heater insertion port 9 toward a heat input wall 7a of the outlet passage pipe 7.-

Abstract: There is provided a more improved industrial hybrid engine by devising mainly a support structure of an electric motor to enable reasonable support of a heavy and large electric motor.
In an industrial hybrid engine, an endless rotary band 9 wound around a drive pulley 6a of a crankshaft 6 and a motor pulley 8a of an electric motor 8 for power is provided. The electric motor 8 is attached to an engine body h by using a support bracket 19. A tension mechanism 18 is supported by the support bracket 19, the tension mechanism 18 tensioning the endless rotary band 9 in a direction in which the endless rotary band 9 is stretched. A second support bracket 20 that supports the electric motor 8 separately from the support bracket 19 is provided.
