    In accordance with an embodiment of the invention, the method comprises updating one or more coupling coefficients of the precoder for mitigating crosstalk from a subscriber line (Li) into one or more victim lines, sending signal adjustment information to a receiver (xTU-Ri) remotely coupled to the subscriber line indicative of a signal compensation factor (γi) to be applied to a receive communication signal to compensate for a channel equalization bias caused by crosstalk pre-compensation signals superimposed over the one or more victim lines and corresponding to the respective one or more updated coupling coefficients of the precoder, and time-coordinating the precoder update with the enforcement of the signal compensation factor at the receiver.
    The present invention also relates to corresponding first and second communication controllers forming part of an access node and a subscriber device respectively.

    In accordance with an embodiment of the invention, the vectoring controller is configured to determine first coefficient values ( P ki , Q ki ) for the vectoring matrix at a first tone (k i ) by means of a first number of iterations (n 1 ) through an iterative update algorithm and based on a first channel matrix estimate (H ki ) at the first tone, and to determine second coefficient values ( P ki+1 , Q ki+1 ) for the vectoring matrix at a second neighboring tone (k i+1 ) by means of a second number of iterations (n 2 ) through the iterative update algorithm and based on a second channel matrix estimate ( H ki+1 ) at the second tone. The vectoring controller is further configured to start with the so-determined first coefficient values as initial values for the respective second coefficient values in the iterative update algorithm. The second number of iterations is lower than or equal to the first number of iterations.
