The housing defines an inner volume between a substantially open proximal end portion and a distal end portion that includes a port couplable to a lumen-defining device. The housing defines a fluid flow path and is couplable to a fluid reservoir. The occlusion mechanism selectively controls a fluid flow between the needle and the fluid flow path.
