摘要： It is an object of the present invention to provide an apparatus not causing inconsistency between the original picture and the image for performing the operations even under the special playback mode. A transport stream from a receiver 34 is supplied to a converter 36. The converter 36 generates a data stream for normal playback. If a desired service contains control data for interactive operations, a data stream for normal playback containing the control data is generated. Also, selecting packets required for performing special playback generate a data stream for special playback. None of the control data is contained in the stream for special playback. Both the stream for normal playback and the stream for special playback are recorded on a recording medium 44. In the normal playback mode, reproduction under interactive manner is performed in accordance with the control data for interactive operation. No inconsistency is produced between the original picture and the image for performing the operations because none of the image for interactive operations is displayed.

The broadcasting apparatus includes a content storing unit for storing the plurality of contents, each content including a set of video data and a set of control information that indicates another content that is a link destination for a present content, and a transmitting unit for multiplexing a set of video data and a plurality of sets of the same control information included in a same content as the set of video data, and for transmitting the multiplexed sets of video data and control information. The reception apparatus includes an extracting unit for extracting a set of video data and a set of control information in a same content as the set of video data, a storing unit for storing the extracted set of control information, a reproducing unit for reproducing the extracted set of video data and outputting an image signal, an operation unit for receiving a user operation that indicates a content switching, and a control unit for controlling the extracting unit to extract another content indicated by the set of control information stored in the storing unit, in accordance with the user operation.

A plurality of conditions are stored, with each condition being specified by a partial data position that indicates a position of a data part of a packet, comparison data to which the data part is to be compared, and a comparison criterion for comparing the data part and comparison data. Different conditions contain different comparison criteria. When filtering packets, a condition in one of the stored conditions is selected, and a data part of an inputted packet is compared with the comparison data of the selected condition according to the comparison criterion in the selected condition. Packets are selectively outputted depending on the result of the comparison.

摘要： A recording/reproduction device is provided wherein service content having interactivity can be restored even when recorded. In recording mode, a transport stream from a receiving device 34 is received and a conversion device 36 converts this to a packet-multiplexed stream in a condition suitable for recording, which is then output as a converted stream. The conversion device 36 selects packets relating to a desired service from the transport stream and, of these packets, selects only packets needed for reproduction and uses these to generate a converted stream. A recording device 38 records this converted stream on a recording medium 44. In reproduction mode, the converted stream from recording medium 44 is read by means of a reading device 42 and supplied to a restoration device 40. Restoration device 40, in accordance with the content of this converted stream, restores and outputs a service content signal (for example a composite signal such as NTSC). A video/image output device 46 receives this service content signal and outputs video/images. These are recorded, still in packetized condition. Consequently, since recording can be achieved including the control data, recording/reproduction can be formed without impairing the functionality of the satellite broadcast provided by the control data.
