    摘要: Respective terminals (5, 6) of a plurality of cells (1) are mutually connected by means of coupling plates (12), and covering members (21) made from an elastic material covering the periphery of the terminals and coupling plates in such a manner that they are sealed with respect to the exterior of the battery are provided. Each covering member comprises tubular sections (22) which are pressed against the battery case surfaces (4) about the periphery of the terminals by means of the coupling plates, when the coupling plates are affixed tightly to the terminals, and a ring-shaped clamping section (25) which is clamped between a coupling plate and a fixing washer (8) surrounding the base portion of each terminal being provided on the inner circumference of each tubular section (22).

    摘要: The battery module comprises a plurality of cells (6) encased in prismatic cell cases (3) having short lateral walls and long lateral walls coupled together as one piece. Each of the cells accommodates therein a group of electrode plates (5) and liquid electrolyte, wherein collector plates (31, 32) are connected respectively to the groups of positive and negative electrode plates at opposite lateral edges thereof. Connection holes (7) are formed at upper edge portions of the short lateral walls of the cell cases, and the collector plates are formed with connection bosses (33) that fit into the connection holes, so that the connection bosses of the collector plates in neighboring cells are abutted each other and welded together, whereby two adjacent cells are connected to each other.
