A composite profile is generated by overlapping at least two starting profiles comprising a plurality of zones in a concentric circle form, and an adjusted profile is generated in which at least one of phase and amplitude is adjusted by employing a zone of the composite profile as a subject in order to set an intensity distribution in the optical axis direction and determine optical characteristics, to manufacture the diffractive multi-focal ophthalmic lens for which the adjusted profile is provided in at least a portion of the diffractive structure.

In order to reduce halos that occur in multifocal ophthalmic lenses, the mechanism of the phenomenon was elucidated and a solution was found based on the results. Thus provided are a multifocal ophthalmic lens having a novel structure and a manufacturing method for the same which can effectively reduce halos. A multifocal ophthalmic lens having a focal point formation region (28) provided to an optical portion (12) of a lens (10), which forms at least two focal points, wherein a cancellation region (30) is provided to the optical portion (12), the cancellation region (30) providing diffracted light of an amplitude distribution that reduces, on the image plane of the first focal point among the focal points, the amplitudes of light other than the light that forms the first focal point.

An artificial cornea comprising: an optical section having a front face and a back face and made of an optically transparent material; and a supporting section for surrounding at least a part of the optical section to support the same, characterized in that a collar section radially protruded outward from the support section is provided on the support section in its side facing the interior of an eye in the enthesis of the artificial cornea. The artificial cornea can successfully adhere to the eye tissue, prevent the outflow of aqueous humor within the eye and the invasion of bacteria into the eye, and reduce the irritation of eyelid conjunctiva. Further, it can inhibit the progress of downgrowth and causes none of a lowering in transparency of the opical section caused by the downgrowth and lifting or dropout of the artificial cornea from the buried state.

Provided is a colored contact lens in which a colored band (22) is disposed at a boundary part between a dark part (12) and a white part (14) of an eye, and a density is gradually changed from the dark part to the white part of the eye such that the density of this colored band (22) decreases from an inner circumference side to an outer circumference side. As a result, a novel colored contact lens is provided with which it is possible to bring out beauty of the white part (14) of the eye, which has been ignored by conventional technology, while an impression is maintained that is as natural and elegant as possible by avoiding an artificial impression such as that found in conventional technology.
