    摘要: An apparatus buffers the movement of sheets cut from a continuous web. Each sheet has a sheet leading edge and a sheet trailing edge.
    Feeding means (26) are provided for feeding the web leading edge into a buffer (40) at a first speed.

    摘要: A dual buffer (10) internal to an imaging device (14) uses a one-way, over-running clutch system to buffer multiple sheets of media between an internal drum recorder (24) and a processor. The one-way over-running clutch system is incorporated into a drive system (20, 22) of a plurality of rollers (32a, 46a) that transport the media. An input set of rollers (32a) and an output set of rollers (46b) are driven independently to allow for two sheets (I1, I2) of media to be buffered simultaneously and at different speeds if desired. The buffer (10) is mounted pivotally within the imaging device (14) to allow access into the imaging device and to allow installation of a take-up cassette (98) as an alternative to the buffer (10).
