摘要: A mobile satellite communication system performing communication with a satellite by means of an antenna with a radome mounted on a mobile, e.g. an aircraft, in which loss and distortion of polarization characteristics due to transmission through the radome can be compensated for in the antenna. Since variable phase shifters (9a, 9b) and variable attenuators (19a, 19b), and variable phase shifters (10a, 10b) and variable attenuators (20a, 20b) are controlled integrally for each system, and entire irradiation power EIRP from the antenna is also controlled optimally by means of a common attenuator (21) inserted independently of the variable attenuators (19a, 19b), radome correction and EIRP control can be realized simultaneously through a relatively simple circuit.

摘要: Square waveguides (9a, 10a) and square waveguides (9b, 10b) are symmetrically formed and a waveguide type polarizer (13) is installed below the level of a waveguide type polarizer (8). This provides an effect which enables installation stability to be enhanced with reduced device height without impairing electric characteristics. In addition, the symmetrical arrangement ensures superior weight balance and mechanically stabilized performance.
