A cryopreservation device (100) which is arranged for cryopreservation of a biological sample (1) comprises a pressure vessel (10) with a vessel wall (11) and an internal space (12) which is arranged to receive the biological sample (1), wherein the pressure vessel (10) is equipped with an actuating device (20) for cooling by lowering the temperature and raising the pressure in the pressure vessel (10) and configured for the cryopreservation of the biological sample (1). Said actuating device (20) is connected to the vessel wall (11) and comprises at least one pressure setting element (21 - 23, 31) and at least one of at least one cooling element (34) and at least one heat conducting element (35 - 38), wherein the actuating device (20) is configured for a time-dependent and/or location-dependent setting of the temperature and of the pressure in the pressure vessel (10). Methods are also described for cryopreservation of a biological sample (1), comprising biological cells (2) and a preservation medium (3), and methods for heating the biological sample (1) to maintain vitality.

The present invention relates to novel substituted benzene disulfonamides of formula (I), as well as pharmaceutical compositions containing at least one of these substituted benzene disulfonamides together with at least one pharmaceutically acceptable carrier, excipient and/or diluent. Said substituted benzene disulfonamides are binding to the prenyl binding pocket of PDE6´ and therefore, are useful for the prophylaxis and treatment of cancer by inhibition of the binding of PDE6´ to farnesylated Ras proteins and thereby, inhibition of oncogenic Ras signaling in cells.

The invention relates to the temperature control, in particular to the ice crystal-free freezing or thawing of a sample (1), comprising the steps of providing the sample (1) on a front side (11) of a carrier substrate (10) and supplying a temperature-control medium (2) to a back side (12) of the carrier substrate (10), wherein the temperature-control medium (2) in the above-critical state and having a pressure that is higher than the atmospheric pressure is brought into contact with the back side (12) of the carrier substrate (10) and the temperature of the sample (1) is rapidly modified. The invention further relates to a temperature control device (100) for the temperature control of a sample.
