    摘要: In a vehicle structure for an automobile including a crash box 3 at a distal end of a vehicle frame 1 extending in the longitudinal direction of the automobile, the crash box 3 has a substantially cross shape (a substantially boxed cross shape) in closed section. Specifically, four substantially rectangular protrusions 35, 36, 37, 38 extend upward, downward, rightward, and leftward. The lengths of the sides of the protrusions 35, 36, 37, 38 are almost equal to each other. Each angle α of the corners 39, 40 between the sides is substantially a right angle (90 degrees). Hence, the crash box 3 can definitely exhibit impact energy absorbing performance not only upon receipt of a load from the front but also upon receipt of a load offset in the car width direction by being buckled and deformed definitely.

    摘要: A crash can 3 with a cross-shaped cross section is provided between a side frame 1 and a bumper beam 2. The crash can connects to an end portion of the side frame in a state where its four projecting portions 3a, 3b, 3c, 3d are directed respectively in upper, lower, right and left directions. The bumper beam 2 comprises a protruding portion 33 which extends in the vehicle width direction. The right and left projecting portions 3b, 3b are joined to a top face 32a of the protruding portion 33 and that the upper and lower projecting portions 3a, 3a are joined to upper and lower faces 32b, 32b of the protruding portion 33 respectively. Plural beads 56 are formed at the crash can 3 at positions which avoid spot-joint positions S. Accordingly, the impact energy can absorbed effectively by the crash can.
