The reader apparatus (1900) comprises a light detector (1907) for measuring luminescence with a portion (1910A) of said wells, and a plurality of electrical connectors (1924,1925) adapted to connect a source of electrical energy (1722) to said wells. Said electrical connectors (1924,1925) are configured to contact a bottom surface of the assay module or multi-well assay plate (1910).
