摘要： A brake assembly for a vehicle comprising a wheel (2) comprising a hollow section (4) and a rim (6), the rim (6) comprising a first portion (9) comprising an electrically conductive material (8) and a second portion (10) adjacent to the first portion (9) comprising a plurality of a permanent magnets and a stator (12) comprising at least one electromagnetic coil (15) arranged to be located within the hollow section (4) of the wheel (2), wherein the stator (12) is moveable between a first position in which the at least one electromagnetic coil (15) is inductively coupled to the first portion (9) of the rim (6) when the wheel (2) is rotating relative to the stator (12), and a second position in which the at least one electromagnetic coil (15) is inductively coupled to the second portion (10) of the rim (6).
