    摘要: A positive type photoresist composition contains (a) 100 parts by weight of a resin which is a polymer compound (A) including carbon-carbon double bonds and having a molecular weight of 300 to 30,000 and an iodine value of 50 to 500. To at least a part of the double bonds of the polymer compound (A), a group represented by the formula (I) is introduced

    wherein R¹ denotes a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom or an alkyl group having 1 to 3 carbon atoms and R² denotes an alkyl group having 1 to 10 carbon atoms, a cycloalkyl group or an aryl group. The composition further contains (b) 25 to 100 parts by weight of a compound containing a quinone diazide unit.

    摘要: Provided is a twisted nematic liquid crystal display device which is improved on viewing characteristics of a display contrast, gray-scale characteristics and a display color.
    The twisted nematic liquid crystal display device includes a liquid crystal display comprising a liquid crystal cell of a TN type for driving sandwiched by a pair of upper and lower polarizing plates in which, at least one compensating film, which is essentially constituted of a liquid crystalline polymer which optically shows a positive uniaxiality and which is fixed in a nematic hybrid orientational order, is inserted between the liquid crystal cell and the upper polarizing plate, or between the liquid crystal cell and the lower polarizing plate, or at least two compensating films, each of which is essentially constituted of a liquid crystalline polymer which optically shows a positive uniaxiality and which is fixed in a nematic hybrid orientational order, are respectively inserted between the liquid crystal cell and the upper polarizing plate, and between the liquid crystal cell and the lower polarizing plate; and an angle between a tilt direction of a compensating film and a pretilt direction on a liquid crystal cell substrate opposed to a substrate for the liquid crystal cell for driving closest to the compensating film is in the range of 165 to 195 degrees.
