摘要: In a state I, a link layer of a mobile host is connected to an access router and a default router is set to the access router such that data packets (P1) and (P2) reach the access router and are routed to a correspondent host. In states II and III, data packets (P3) to (P8) are not transmitted but are buffered. When the mobile host switches the default router from the access router to an access router upon reception of a router advertisement from the access router, processing moves to a state IV and the buffered data packets (P3) to (P8) are transmitted. Since the link layer of the mobile host is connected to the access router and the default router is set to the access router, the data packets (P3) to (P8) reach the access router and are routed to the correspondent host.

摘要: A mobile communication system (1) is provided including a plurality of base stations (11-29) placed in a communication service area and connected to a network (10), in which a mobile station (30) communicates with a second station through the plurality of base stations (11-29) and the network (10). The mobile communication system (1) determines a virtual base station group, that is, an aggregation of the plurality of base stations communicating with the mobile station (30), based on a condition of a radio transmission path between the mobile station (30) and each base station (11-29), and combines information received by the plurality of base stations (15, 19, 20, 24) that belong to the virtual base station group at a base station included in the virtual base station group, characterized in that the network (10) connects the plurality of base stations (11-29) non-hierarchically, characterized in that the base station transmits combined information to the second station through the network (10).
In such a system, the base stations (15, 19, 20, 24) belonging to the virtual base station group are not limited to specific base stations when the mobile station (30) moves in the communication service area. Accordingly, communication between a moving mobile station (30) and the base stations (11-29) is stabilized. Additionally, a single base station belonging to the virtual base station group executes processes related to communication between the mobile station (30) and the second station. Accordingly, execution of such processes is not concentrated in a single communication node, even if the number of base stations placed in the communication service area increases.

摘要: A mobile unit 10 according to the present invention is capable of communication using a plurality of communication subsystems. Usability determination section 13 determines usability of the plurality of communication subsystems at the current location of the mobile unit 10 based on the electrical field intensity of a wireless LAN and the electrical field intensity of a mobile unit telephone network. A communication subsystem selection section 14 selects a communication subsystem whereby the current location can be measured with highest accuracy, of the communication subsystems that are determined as being usable. For example, if the mobile telephone subsystem is selected, the mobile telephone network communication section 15 infers the current location of the mobile unit 10 and transmits the result of determination of usability, together with information indicating the current location, to the address of an information provision server 20. Afterthis, themobile unit 10 looks up the result of determination of usability from a plurality of mobile units that is stored in the information provision server 20.
