Abstract:
A method for production of the identification medium is provided, in which a counterfeit product having similar appearance as that of an authentic one can be easily detected and in which the code can be read with high accuracy. The method for production of an identification medium, contains a forming step in which a code printed pattern 107 is formed by printing; and a joining step in which the code printed pattern 107 and a cholesteric liquid crystal layer 102 are joined; wherein the identification medium comprises, in order, seen from an observing side: a cholesteric liquid crystal layer 102, in which a hologram is processed and right circularly polarized light is reflected; a circularly polarizing filter layer 106 having a structure formed by laminating a »/4 plate and a linearly polarizing filter from the observing side, in which left circularly polarized light selectively penetrates toward the cholesteric liquid crystal layer 102 when natural light enters from the opposite side to the cholesteric liquid crystal layer side 102; and a code printed pattern 107, in which a two-dimensional codes is formed.
Abstract:
A discrimination medium, which can have much information, can be produced on a small scale at low cost, and enables change of a sticker design at low cost, is provided. A cholesteric liquid crystal layer 302, having a fine asperity for forming a hologram, is formed on a transparent first substrate 301. A print layer 305 composed of a black ink is formed on a transparent second substrate 304. The substrates are affixed to each other via a bond layer 308, so that a discrimination medium 310 is obtained. In the discrimination medium 310, the display content obtained by the print layer is changed, so that the display content for discrimination can be changed at low cost.
Abstract:
An authenticity identifying film (10) has a reflective film (11) having a circularly polarized light selectivity to reflect at least only either of right-handed circularly polarized light and left-handed circularly polarized light of incident light to produce reflected light. The reflective film (11) is provided with a hologram forming part (11a). The hologram forming part (11a) reflects circularly polarized light of the same circular polarization as that of the reflected light in a direction different from that of the reflected light to form a holographic image. The reflected light reflected by the reflective film (11) and the holographic image formed by the hologram forming part (11a) are detected by detectors disposed at different positions, respectively.
Abstract:
In an identification medium, switching of images can be clearly observed, and the medium has a structure produced at low cost. The structure comprises a cholesteric liquid crystal layer 102 in which a hologram is formed, and which selectively reflects circularly polarized light of a specific rotating direction of a specific central wavelength, a cholesteric liquid crystal layer reflecting the entire range of visible light 105 which has reflection characteristics equivalent to a case of reflecting the entire range of visible light and which reflects circularly polarized light of the same rotating direction as the circularly polarized light reflected from the cholesteric liquid crystal layer 102, and a display pattern 106 having a specific content displayed, arranged in this order, as seen from the side of observation.
Abstract:
An identification medium can be used to determine whether or not a code is authentic when a structure displaying the code is visually observed, and which can also be superior in cost, reliability and durability. The identification medium has a structure including a cholesteric liquid crystal layer 103 which selectively reflects circularly polarized light of a first wavelength in a visible light band, and in which a processed hologram 104 is formed, and a code printed layer 102 in which code information is printed by an ink that absorbs or reflects infrared rays at a wavelength that is different from the first wavelength, in which a region in which the processed hologram 104 is formed and a region 102a in which the ink is printed on the code printed layer 102, are located so as to be at least partially overlapped when they are viewed from the side of observation.

Abstract:
A technique detects counterfeit products having appearances similar to authentic products with high accuracy. A cholesteric liquid crystal layer 102 in which hologram is processed (103) and circularly polarized light of primary rotating direction having specific central wavelength can be selectively reflected and a code forming layer in which code printed pattern 107 that is an objective of reading is formed, are arranged in this order seen from a side from which reading is performed. The hologram image that inhibits reading of information of the code while an optical reading device reads it together with the code, and it is formed by the hologram processing 103.
Abstract:
An identification medium (101) having a multilayer structure of a cloth (102), an ordinary print layer (103) of black ordinary ink, and an identification print layer (104) of ink containing cholesteric liquid crystal. Print display utilizing the optical characteristics of the cholesteric liquid crystal can be carried out by forming a predetermined character print by the identification print layer (104). By making the ordinary print layer (103) function as a flattering layer, irregularities on the surface of the cloth (102) are moderated and optical characteristics of the identification print layer (104) can be emerged effectively. Since the identification medium (101) can be composed as the substrate of the cloth (102), design of articles such as clothing or small wares is not damaged and uncomfortable feeling does not occur.
