The signal line bundle is covered by an arresting member arresting the signal line bundle, and is characterized in that the arresting force of the arresting member covering the signal line bundle in the prescribed area of the signal line bundle enclosed in the curved tube part is smaller than that of the arresting member covering those areas of the signal line bundle other than that area.

A biopsy treatment instrument according to the present invention includes a flexible sheath, an insertion portion capable of advancing and retracting in the flexible sheath, a recessed portion for specimen sampling provided on a side surface of the insertion portion, a capacitive ultrasound transducer array provided on a bottom surface of the recessed portion for specimen sampling, and a slide portion that relatively slides the insertion portion and the flexible sheath so that the recessed portion for specimen sampling opens and closes. It is determined on the basis of a reflected wave received by the capacitive ultrasound transducer array whether or not a specimen is captured into the recessed portion for specimen sampling. Therefore, it is possible to surely sample the specimen.

In a distal end portion of a flexible sheath 3 which is inserted integrally with an ultrasound transducer array 20, cell collecting hole portions 10 each including a through-hole which allows a distal end portion outer periphery and an internal space of the flexible sheath 3 to communicate with each other is provided, an edge 11 for specimen cutting is formed at an opening portion of an outer circumferential side of each of the cell collecting hole portions 10, and after the flexible sheath 3 is caused to reach a lesion part 41 or the like of a subject, specimen collection is performed without additionally inserting a biological forceps or the like into the flexible sheath 3, whereby a specimen 42 of a target site such as the lesion part 41 is reliably collected without unnecessarily increasing the number of times of insertion and extraction of an instrument into and from a body, and the burden on an examinee is reduced.
