    摘要: A wet electrophotographic apparatus comprises a liquid toner developer having a nonvolatility, a high viscosity, and a high concentration, a photosensitive body (10) on which an electrostatic latent image is to be formed, a prewetting device (13) for applying a prewetting liquid film to the photosensitive body (10), a development roller (26) disposed in contact with the photosensitive body (10) and adapted for feeding the liquid developer to the photosensitive body (10) and for allowing toner particles of the liquid developer to adhere to the photosensitive body (10) by the action of the electric field produced between the development roller (26) and the photosensitive body (10), so as to transfer the toner image formed on the photosensitive body (10) to a printing medium directly or through an intermediate transfer body (15) and thereby to form an image, wherein the apparatus further comprises oil removing means (30 or 20) in contact with the surface of the formed toner image for removing excessive prewetting liquid and carrier liquid of the liquid toner from the surface of the toner image. Excessive prewetting liquid and carrier is prevented from being transported to the contact part where the photosensitive body is in contact with the intermediate transfer body, staying there, flowing, and damaging the image. Therefore, heating and melting of the toner layer is not influenced in fixing.

With this constitution, the toner transferred onto the intermediate transfer body (15) can be efficiently fused without giving a thermal influence upon the photosensitive body (10).

By applying a bias voltage to the final-stage roller which is pressed against the development roller, the surface of the final-stage roller is coated with the liquid developer in accordance with an electric field generated between the final-stage roller and the development roller by means of the bias voltage.
