摘要:
A flow generator and humidifier construction is described, including a flow generator (50) construction adapted to reduce noise output compared to known flow generators of comparable size. The flow generator includes a chassis (64) forming first and second muffler volumes and a venturi-shaped connection portion (137), and a metal/polymer composite material blower enclosure (70) which suppresses noise from the blower (90). The humidifier (150) has a water container (698, 699,700) which is adapted for drop in assembly in the humidifier base (602) so as to align with air inlet and outlet passages and is retained in sealing relationship with the air flow passages by engagement of the humidifier lid (648).

The present invention provides an apparatus (10, 30, 120, 170) for humidifying breathable gas including at least one humidifier part (12, 18, 36, 38, 40) configured to retain a body of liquid therein and defining at least one chamber (14, 16, 74, 76) therein, an inlet (22, 32) communicated with an interior of the at least one humidifier part (12, 18, 36, 38, 40) and connectable to a blower outlet, and an outlet (24, 34) communicated with the interior of the at least one humidifier part (12, 18, 36, 38, 40) and connectable to a patient supply conduit. The at least one chamber (14, 16, 74, 76) is arranged such that liquid from the body of liquid is prevented from exiting the at least one humidifier part (12, 18, 36, 38, 40) through the inlet (22, 32) thereof when the at least one humidifier part (12, 18, 36, 38, 40) is rotated from a working, upright orientation.

A forehead pad for use in a respiratory mask with a forehead support, which includes a base portion (708) to contact a user's forehead, a support post connected to the base portion, and a head adapted to connect the support post (701) to a forehead support. A pair of forehead pads may be joined with a connector.

A respiratory mask assembly for delivering breathable gas to a patient has a frame (12) with a main body and lateral sides of the main body equipped with locking clip receiver means (54). A locking clip (28) is coupled to a headgear assembly at the rear portion and to the receiver means at the front portion. The rear portion has a cross bar forming an opening through which the headgear assembly can pass, whilst the front is provided with spring arms (36), flexible in the plane of the main body.

The invention concerns a mask system for treating sleep disordered breathing, comprising headgear (20), a shell/cushion (30) including a channel (54) adjacent a front aperture (30.3), a frame (40), an elbow (50) including at least one undercut (50.2) on a proximal end, a retaining ring (60) including a rear flange (64) adapted to be retainably insertable in the channel (524) of the shell/cushion (30), and a front flange (66) adapted to be retainably engage with the at least one undercut (50.2) of the elbow (50).

The present invention relates to a cushion (14) for a respiratory mask assembly (10) that delivers breathable gas to a patient. The cushion (14) comprises a non-face contacting portion (24) connectable to a frame (12) and a face-contacting portion (26) structured to engage the patient's face. The cushion further comprises an intermediate portion (28) that interconnects the non-face contacting portion (24) and the face-contacting portion (26), the intermediate portion (28) including a gusset portion (50) structured to apply a first component of force to the patient's face through the face-contacting portion (26). The gusset portion (50) extends radially outwardly with respect to the non-face-contacting and face-contacting portions (24, 26) to provide a larger footprint area than the face-contacting portion (26). The gusset portion (50) is curved as viewed from above to follow the contour of the patient's face.
