The invention concerns a method for preventing misting when coating flexible supports with at least a liquid silicone coating (RTV polyaddition) precursor of silicone coat(s), using a coating device with cylinders operating at high speed. The invention aims at increasing the misting speed and hence enhance the appearance, the spreading rate and the mechanical properties of the silicone coating, as well as industrial hygiene. To achieve this, the method consists in using a liquid coating composition obtained by mixing: a silicone phase comprising one or several POS (A) and optionally one or several (crosslinking) compound(s) (B) whereof the viscosity θ ranges at 25 °C between 100 and 800 mPa's; with 1 to 10 wt. % of non-cellulosic anti-misting particles (talcum, silica, kaolin, TiO2) whereof the D50 (in νm): 0.01 ≤ D50 ≤ 2; and optionally with a water/solvent liquid (D).

An essential aim of the invention is a treatment which permits: (i) coating a textile material and/or threads, fibres and/or filaments making up the textile material, the silicone formulation cross-linking around the threads, fibres and/or filaments making up the textile material and forming a cross-linked silicone coating around the same and ii) durably imparting water-repellency and impermeability to said textile material without substantially affecting the intrinsic respirability of the textile material. Said aim is achieved by means of the present invention using at least one cross-linkable silicone formulation as a base for the textile coating material, particularly, of a textile material which may be used for the production of sports clothing.

The invention relates to the use of a silicon formulation as a textile coating base comprising a silicon resin, a metal alkoxide and a functional additive which can react with at least one of the preceding components. One of the essential objectives of the invention is to supply a treatment which can be used to provide a large number of textile materials with long-lasting characteristics. Another essential objective is to supply a treatment for fixing a functional siloxane network to the surface of the textile material. In order to achieve the aforementioned objectives, the invention relates to the use of at least one cross-linkable liquid silicon formulation as a base for coating textile material. In this way, by cross-linking around the constituent threads, fibres and/or filaments of the textile material, the material is provided with a large protective covering which is little dependent on the nature of said material given that it requires no or few anchoring points. In addition, by producing a chemically-cross-linking silicon sheath, the textile material is provided with excellent resistance against stresses which occur during usage and, thus, long-lasting protection. Moreover, by providing additional specific use characteristics, it is possible to form coatings having use properties such as softness, water repellency, oil repellency, water absorbency and an anti-static effect. Finally, owing to the special nature of the components of the formulation, the operations consisting in depositing the liquid formulation and cross-linking same can be performed at any point in the processes involving the creation and/or alteration and/or maintenance of the textile material which is made from natural and/or synthetic materials.

The composition includes at least one functional polyorganosiloxane cross-linked by a polyaddition, polycondensation or free radical reaction, optionally a polyorganohydrosiloxane, a catalyst, optionally a reinforcing filler, and a heat conductivity increasing filler present in the composition in an amount of 35-70 % by volume based on the total composition, which filler includes at least two groups of particles having greatly differing average diameters, i.e. a first group having an average particle diameter of 10-40 νm and forming more than half of the filler, and a second group having an average particle diameter of less than 5 νm.
