摘要: The invention relates to a service element (2, 15, 16) in dispersed systems in order to configure, service, update and optionally perform emergency functions on components in dispersed systems. The service element (2, 15, 16) detects new components and integrates said components into the system or provides information required for configuring. A software correction routine is optionally performed in the event of an error being detected by the service element (2, 15, 16) and occurring in software running on said components. The service element (2, 15, 16) loads new software for the components via communication means (4, 22, 24). When serious functional errors arise, the service element (2, 15, 16) contacts a service provider using communication means.

摘要: The invention relates to a method for permitting an exchange of data between an Xlet-based data set (11, 11`) and a bundle-based data set (17) via a bundle-based interface (26), involving the following steps: providing at least one Xlet-based data set 11, 11`), preferably a Java application, in a data processing device (14) comprising a memory device (15), whereby the Xlet-based data set (11, 11`) can exchange data via an Xlet-based interface (23); providing the bundle-based data set (17), preferably a Java application, in said data processing device (14), whereby the bundle-based data set (17) can exchange data via a bundle-based interface (26); establishing whether the data processing device (14) has the bundle-based interface (26), via the Xlet-based interface (23), and if this is the case, storing a reference to a bundle-based interface (26) in the Xlet-based data set (11, 11`) in order to permit an access to bundle-based data sets (17) and thus an exchange of data in the data processing device (14).

摘要: An image transmission process allows fixed data rates to be efficiently utilised. The image data to be transmitted are sorted into different categories depending on their sensitivity to channel errors and the categories are provided with different error protections and transmitted. Information words that contain information on the number of data bits belonging to the category and the type of error protection used precede the individual categories. In addition, a synchronisation word is added to the image data of each image. At the receiver, the first information words are channel-decoded according to a fixed coding rate and the information stored in the first information words is used for channel-decoding the image data. The image data are then image source decoded and outputted.
