摘要: The invention relates to a method and a device for determining battery status. The battery status is determined by measuring the voltage of a vehicle battery during the start procedure over a given period, determination of a minimum voltage level of the vehicle battery during said period of the measuring process, evaluation of the charge status of the vehicle battery based on the minimum voltage level and control of the generator based on the evaluation of the charge status of the vehicle battery, such that an adequate supply for the vehicle electrical system and an adequate charging of the vehicle battery are guaranteed and the fuel consumption and emission discharges are optimised. The control of the generator is carried out, depending on the determined charge status and optionally the ambient temperature, whereby either a set value for the charging voltage is given at a normal charging level, a set value for charging voltage is given for relieving the load on the engine, a set value for the charging voltage is given at a reduced vehicle electrical system level or a set value for the charging voltage is given at a recuperative level.
