    Abstract: Systems and methods for operating sensors in an aircraft are provided. Aspects include receiving, by a processor associated with a sensor, a first request to test a transmitter function of the sensor, transmitting a test message to one or more other sensors associated with the aircraft, and listening to a transmitter associated with each of the one or more other sensors to determine a transmitter status of the sensor, wherein the transmitter status of the sensor is a pass status based on receiving a confirmation from at least one of the one or more other sensors. Aspects also include transmitting air data parameters and health status parameters associated with the air data probe (42) to the one or more other air data probes.

    Abstract: A monitoring device (320) is provided herein. The monitoring device (320) is in communication with one or more air data systems (110, 112). The model (330) includes a monitoring and comparing layer (340) utilizing parameters from the one or more air data systems (110, 112) to measure a performance and determine a drift. The model (330) includes an estimating layer (360) providing a degradation model determining a degradation of health parameters of the one or more air data systems (110, 112). The model (330) includes a predicting layer (370) monitoring changes and patterns in the drift and the degradation of health parameters.

    Abstract: A windshield wiper system for use on an aircraft includes a controller (26) and a wiper assembly (20) including a wiper arm (28), a wiper blade (30), and a moving block (32). Further, the windshield wiper system includes a rail assembly (22) including a rail assembly rack (26), a plurality of electromagnets (40), and an electrical interface (42). The electrical interface and the plurality of electromagnets induce a force on the moving block of the wiper assembly, causing the wiper assembly to sweep across the windshield of the aircraft. The controller is coupled to the rail assembly and the controller is configured to direct the motion of the wiper assembly through command signals to the rail assembly.
