A highly efficient lighting system, a scrolling unit, and a projection system adopting the highly efficient lighting system and the scrolling unit are provided. The scrolling unit has at least one lens cell. From the viewpoint of light incident upon the at least one lens cell, the rotation of the at least one lens cell is converted into a rectilinear motion of a lens array, such that incident light is scrolled. The projection system includes a light source, an optical splitter, at least one scrolling unit, and a light valve. The optical splitter splits light emitted from the light source according to wavelenght. The at least one scrolling unit has at least one lens cell. The lens cell has an incident side and an emitting side and divides incident light into light beams. The rotation of the lens cell causes a rectilinear motion of the light beams, thereby scrolling incident light. The light emitted from the light source is separated into color beams by the optical splitter and the scrolling unit, and the color beams are focused on the light valve. The light valve processes incident light according to an input image signal in order to form a color image.

A data demodulator demodulates reproduction-related user data from the sum signal, a wobble PIC demodulator demodulates recordable OISMRI recorded as pit wobbles from a differential signal of the reflected signals, and a wobble PID demodulator demodulates physical identification data that is recorded as pit wobbles from the differential signal. A determination is made whether the OISM is a read-only OISM or a recordable OISM based on whether the optical information storage medium comprises a plurality of different modulation codes.

A data reproducing method reproducing data recorded in a super resolution information storage medium in a form of marks having magnitudes less than a resolving power of an incident light beam, and an apparatus thereof. The data reproducing method includes irradiating a first beam having a resolving power causing a super resolution phenomenon and a second beam having a resolving power not causing a super resolution phenomenon into different places on the information storage medium, detecting a first reproduction signal based on the first beam and a second reproduction signal based on the second beam, and compensating for and calculating a temporal delay between the first reproduction signal and the second reproduction signal. Therefore, a signal reflected from a peripheral area of a reproduction beam spot other than a super resolution area can be excluded, thereby improving reproduction signal characteristics.
