The display apparatus includes : first and second data storages to store first and second display identification data therein; a terminal to supply power to the first and second data storages; a connector to which a video signal source is connected; a type detector to detect the type of the video signal source through one or more pins of the connector; and a switch to selectively supply power from the power supplying terminal to either the first data storage or the second data storage according to detection results of the type detector.
